Bamboo Gazebo
Garden StructureThe Bamboo Gazebo was built as part of a construction workshop at the Bandusia Country Retreat in St. Albans, NSW.
The design of the structure is based on the idea of corbelling bamboo poles to create a rigid joint which we explored in our very first structure built in India. The design questions the premise of using triangular geometry to create rigid bamboo connections. The corbelling allows to create a form that is simple and very Japanese in character which complements the existing structures at the Bandusia Country retreat.
We used threaded rod and bolts for our connections and the structure is 3.5m x 3.5m in size.
