Good Seed School

We were commissioned by Lighthouse Christian College to design a school in Werribee with a strong focus on permaculture and sustainability. The site was located in the green wedge and was used as a market garden.

The concept for the school was focussed around integrating permaculture and sustainable design in every aspect starting from building to landscaping. The inspiration for the masterplan comes from the rows of industrial agriculture combined with the organic nature of permaculture farming. The layout was focussed around an oval playground with more than 60% of the site devoted to a market garden that would provide a practical learning experience for the students.

The classrooms are built from recycled shipping container with a strong focus on passive design and solar power generation.
